LapBand Dallas BMI Calculator
Your body mass index (BMI) is a simple math calculation that determines your weight-to-height ratio. You can learn your own BMI by entering your height and weight in the spaces below. Based on the information you provide, the calculator will then determine your BMI using the formula lbs/inches2 * 704.5. It can also give you information about extent of the risk factors that may be associated with your calculated BMI.
Although there are several criteria we use to determine if you are a possible candidate for the Lap Band® procedure, a BMI of 40 or greater suggests that you may benefit from the procedure. If you do not meet the BMI or weight criteria, you still may be considered for surgery if your BMI is over 35 and you are suffering from serious health problems related to obesity. However, we consider all patients individually, so contact us to discuss.
